How we Started
Started in 2008, brand Nimkish is owned by R.R. Enterprises which is a micro-enterprise based in the lush green valley of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Mrs. Punam Ghai, the creator of this brand, always had a deep passion for cooking and a desire to share this passion with the world that led to the genesis of the brand. Today, her entire family is involved in the food business and they are proud to share the flavours developed by them with the world.
Nimkish Products
Nimkish strives to provide high-quality, reasonably priced, and easy-to-use products to its customers. They are working hard to achieve their goal of reaching every household in India and around the world with innovative processing techniques, packaging designs and more. They aim to provide customers with the most authentic and delicious flavours possible.
R.R. Enterprises manufactures, exports, and trades Ready to Cook Spice Mix, Blended Spices, and Chutneys made from fresh produce and high-quality ingredients. They are USFDA registered and Halal certified. Their most popular range is the Ready to Cook Spice Mix.
With over 50 varieties in this category, their spices are not only innovative but also unique. They aspire to make Indian cooking simple by becoming a one-stop shop for all the cooking needs of their customers. There's no need to add onion, ginger, garlic, salt, or any other spice while cooking with Nimkish Ready to Cook Spices. Some of their bestselling products are Butter Chicken Spice Mix, Meat Curry Spice Mix, Paneer Butter Masala Spice Mix, Hot Apple Relish, Tomato Relish and Chilli Garlic Chutney among many more.
Behind the Scenes
Mrs. Punam with the help of her husband, Mr. Brij Bhushan Ghai, started this business by grinding spices in a domestic mixer grinder, then packing them in plastic jars, sealing them, and shipping them to Canada. Her sister Renu was the driving force behind this venture. Gradually, her son Varun and daughter-in-law Ankna and youngest sister Mridula also joined the family business, assisting in the expansion of the business and growing the product line from 5 to 60. Around 20 local women are now employed by the company.
Other Initiatives
R.R. Enterprises has also collaborated with Green Innovation Centre India to provide training to women and youth from apple-growing regions of rural Kullu district. The training was aimed at sensitizing participants about food processing and the value addition of fruits and vegetables. There ongoing efforts along with GIZ’s support has inspired many women to start their own small business and become financially independent.
Awards and Recognition
They were awarded the State Innovation Award for the year 2015-16. Mrs. Punam Ghai was also honoured with an appreciation award on the 15th of August 2017 by the Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, H.P., for her contribution in empowering women and strengthening Himachal’s Food Processing Industry.
Where we are
Nimkish Spices and Chutneys are now available in the United Kingdom. We’ve partnered with One Stop Spices Ltd as our sole importer and distributor for UK. All sales and other inquiries about Nimkish products will be handled by One Stop Spices.
Nimkish is currently available in 9 countries with plans for further international expansion soon!
